PREP LACROSSE: Vandals win 3 of 8 in New Mexico

SANTA FE, N.M. -- Brian Johnson rang up 13 goals in eight games, and
Ryan Johnson scored 12 as the Maple Valley Lacrosse Club Vandals `A' team won three games in the Warrior/STX Ironman Challenge tournament last week.

Playing in conditions that ranged from sunshine to frigid to windy,
Maple Valley scored victories over ThunderRidge High of Denver (8-7 in
overtime),
Englewood (Colo.) High (15-2) and El Dorado High of Albuquerque (10-2).The Vandals came up short against Jesuit Prep of Dallas (14-3), Austin,
Texas (14-2), Plano Texas (7-3), Tabor Academy of Marion, Mass. (9-4) and Desert Vista, Ariz. (7-6).
Power-play goals hurt Maple Valley throughout the tournament, as they
allowed 16 and scored just four of its own. Plano picked up four of its seven goals on power plays.

Brian Johnson and Ryan Johnson each finished with seven assists in
eight games. Other scorers for the Vandals were Nick Johnson (seven goals, one assist), Chris Lindemann (four goals, three assists), Dallas Sessions (three goals, three assists), Bryce Cline and Kelly Kriska (three goals and one assist apiece), Collin Anstrom (three goals), Nathan Hale (two goals, one assist, Garret Macklin (one goal) and Adam Sterling and Josh Rochowiak (one assist each).

Maple Valley outshot its eight opponents by a combined 171-99. Chadd
Boysen made 31 saves, and Norman Jobe had six.
